Miltoun House Group

Welcome To Our Homes.

Bring your family or friends for an informal visit and a cup of tea.
Book your holiday, respite care, or more permanent placement. We assure you of our best attention at all times.

The atmosphere at the home was relaxed and welcoming. We saw numerous instances of caring and supportive interactions during our inspection.

Arran House

The main house is a three-storey property with a two-storey offshoot to the rear, both of which are constructed in traditional brick with tiled roof. The property fronts directly on to the pavement and has a substantial area to the rear, which is divided into a garden/seating area and a parking area.

The second floor accommodation comprises an office and a staff resource room, whilst the first floor incorporates four single bedrooms [one for the staff], bathroom and a separate toilet.

The ground floor has a large lounge and a bedroom with en-suite shower facility. The kitchen, which is to the rear, is a large “family/living” kitchen. There is also a ground floor toilet and a separate area for storage, washing machine and dryer.

The house has gas central heating and gas fire in the lounge.

Arran House Manager

Aileen is from the local area.  Her brother was a mental health social worker and in her words said that she always used to say she would love to do that kind of work. Her brother told her to “go for it and you won’t regret it”.  In 2002 she saw a job advertised at Miltoun House, came for the interview and started as a night shift worker.

She really enjoyed that job but after a couple of months moved to Arran House where she has worked since. She worked her way through all the relevant NVQ qualification reaching the level at which she could apply for Registered Manager status with the Care Quality Commission.

Fortunately for us she finds her job very interesting and rewarding. She gets a lot of pleasure out of the job and wishes that she had made the move many years ago.

Aileen is proud of the way that the Home runs and the quality of the team that she has around her.
