"The Home works in a very person centred way. The staff are very experienced and knowledgeable."

Miltoun House is located on Albion Terrace, some few hundred yards from the town centre. Albion Terrace is a private road shared only with the other properties on the terrace and is gated at both ends. The house is a substantial residential property constructed around the turn of the 20th century. It is a three-storey property constructed of brickwork with a slate roof.

To the rear of the property is a large walled courtyard, which has seating and is used for car parking and access to Walkers Row, directly behind the property. To the front are extensive gardens with flowerbeds and lawns. Both the front and rear gardens have the benefit of a number of mature trees.

The accommodation comprises 18 bedrooms located on ground, first and second floors, most of which are ensuite. There is also a residents’ toilet at ground floor level.

The communal areas include a dining room, TV lounge, quiet lounge, quiet/seating area and scullery for residents to make hot drinks. There is also a separate kitchen, store, laundry, and office.

The property has gas-fired central heating with a gas fire in the dining room and open fires in the lounges.

Miltoun House is directly managed by our Registered Manager John Butterfield with the support of Jackie Corner and Janet Devenport.  Jackie and Janet provide extra senior cover across the organisation as needed. They have both worked with us for a number of years and know the residents and their families extremely well. They lead on specialist areas such as medication to ensure that we meet the high standards that we all want to provide.

Janet has worked with us since February 2013.  She has a special interest in mental health and enjoys the work she provides for the company.  She enjoys the day to day challenges and strives to find the right care for each resident
